Career Clarity Coaching

You know something needs to change. You’re just not sure what.

It’s not ability that’s the issue. It’s clarity.

This programme helps you slow things down, make sense of your ideas, and work out what comes next.

Why we get stuck ...

It’s a good job, but not a good job for you.

You might recognise this:

  • You’re thinking about change, but keep going round in circles

  • You don’t know what you actually want next

  • You’ve started to doubt your own judgement

This is where we start.

What this gives you

By the end of the programme, you’ll have:

  • A clear direction that feels right for you, not just something that looks good on paper

  • Confidence in your decisions, without second-guessing

  • A way of thinking things through so you don’t get stuck in the same place again

  • A practical plan you can act on straight away

How the programme works

We keep things simple and focused. No overcomplication.

We use a structured coaching process over 10 sessions, giving you the space to step back, make sense of things, and move forward with confidence.

  1. Clarity
Understand where you are, what matters, and what’s been getting in the way

  2. Exploration
Open up options and test what genuinely fits you

  3. Decision
Narrow things down and make a confident choice

  4. Action
Take real steps towards your next move with support and accountability

We focus on steady progress – building clarity, confidence, and momentum over time.

A key part of the process is writing.

Not in a formal way, but as a way of thinking.

Many people find they reach a different level of clarity when they write things down, rather than just talking them through. It slows things down and helps you see what’s really going on.

We use this deliberately throughout the programme to help you make sense of your ideas, work through decisions, and move forward with more confidence.

What this looks like in practice

Sarah, a senior manager in the public sector, came to me at a point where her career no longer felt like her own.

She had been successful, capable, and progressing well. But after changes at work and a loss of confidence, she found herself stuck.
Overthinking decisions. Questioning her direction. Going round in circles.

She didn’t lack ability. She lacked clarity.

Through the process, we worked through her experience in a structured way.
Identifying what mattered most, understanding her strengths more deeply, and exploring realistic options without pressure.

The shift was significant.
Sarah moved from uncertainty to a clear direction that felt right for her, not just on paper, but in a way she trusted.
Within a few months, she made a decision she had been putting off for a long time and acted on it.

By the end of the process, she had a clear plan and a very different relationship with her work.

In her words, “I’ve got a clear plan for what I want to do next, and I feel excited about my work again.”

Here’s how that works in practice.

What's included

  • 10 coaching sessions (60 minutes, with a longer first session)

  • A personalised approach built around your situation and what matters to you

  • Practical tools, including writing techniques and exercises, to help you think things through and make decisions

  • Ongoing support between sessions to keep things moving

Investment

The investment for the programme is £1200 if paid upfront.

If it’s more helpful, you can also split this into three monthly payments of £420.

This is a focused, structured piece of work designed to help you get clear and start moving again.

Let’s start with a conversation

If you’re ready to take that next step, this is where we begin.

A relaxed 30 minute conversation to talk things through and see if this is the right next step for you.

Most people find that even one conversation gives them useful clarity, whether they decide to go further or not.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, so availability is limited.

What clients say ...

“Within a few sessions, I felt clearer about my direction and more confident in how to move forward. I’m now taking action and feel much more positive about my career, and have started making changes I’d been putting off for a long time.”

Heather Oliver, Systems & Databases Manager

“Mark helped me work through decisions I’d been stuck on for a long time. I now feel confident making the right choices for me and clear on what to do next, and I’m taking steps I wouldn’t have taken before.”

Gemma Bathurst-Whittle, Service Manager

This might not be for you if…

You’re looking for a quick answer or someone to tell you what to do.

You’re not open to reflecting on your experience or exploring things properly.

You want a shortcut rather than a structured process.

This is for you if…

You know something needs to change, but you’re not sure what.

You’ve been thinking about it for a while and feel stuck or going round in circles.

You want to make a move, but want to be confident it’s the right one.

More about me ...

I’m Mark Crossfield, a career coach specialising in mid-career change.

After 28 years as a civil engineer, I know what it’s like to build a successful career that no longer quite fits.
To reach a point where, on paper, everything looks fine, but something doesn’t feel right.

I also know how difficult it can be to think clearly about what comes next when you’re in the middle of it.
When you’re busy, responsible for a lot, and don’t have the space to properly step back.

That experience shapes how I work.

My approach is practical and grounded. I help you slow things down, work things through properly, and decide what to do next.
Not just in theory, but in a way that works in the reality of your work and life.

I’ve worked with professionals across the public and private sector to help them get clear, make decisions, and move forward with confidence.

A few common questions

Where does the meeting take place?

We meet over video (Zoom or Teams) or by phone.

Am I too old to change career?

No. People change direction at every stage of their career. What matters is finding what’s right for you now.

Are our conversations confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss is private and confidential. I work in line with professional coaching standards and the Global Code of Ethics.

What if I’m not sure yet?

That’s exactly where most people start. You don’t need all the answers to begin.

What if this isn’t right for me?

That’s something we can work out together. The first conversation is simply a chance to talk things through and see if this would be useful for you.

Ready to get clear on what’s next?

Over the next few sessions, you’ll move from feeling stuck and uncertain to having a clearer direction and the confidence to act on it.

Clients often tell me the biggest shift isn’t just the decision they make. It’s how they feel about it.

Less second-guessing.
More trust in their own thinking.
A sense that things are moving again.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.
That’s what we work through together.

If you’re ready to take that next step, this is where we begin.

A relaxed 30 minute conversation. No pressure. Just a chance to explore what’s next.
