What is Career Impact Coaching?

Career Impact coaching works by providing expert support and guidance to keep you on track, take specific action and achieve your career impact goals. These goals may include:
 
  • Making a great impact in the first 100 days of a new job
  • Taking on a new leadership role
  • Stepping up your performance at work
  • Dealing with complexity and change at work
  • Starting a new project
As your impact coach, you will have my support and guidance to hold you accountable to stay focused and do what you say you’ll do. 

I help you to overcome the obstacles that might hold you back

As your coach, I will help you to understand and navigate the obstacles that stop you from moving forward and taking action.
Together we will create a strategy and action plan to help you overcome those obstacles and rapidly move towards achieving the impact you seek.

How does Career Impact Coaching work?

Career Impact coaching works by providing you with coaching support and guidance to keep you on track to take specific action to achieve your career impact goals. We will work one-on-one and I will support you to stay focused and do what you say you’ll do. 
 
At the start, I will help you get absolute clarity on the areas where you want to have an impact and help you to create a plan to achieve your goals.
 
Following on from this I will provide you with a structured path and plan to rapidly achieve your goals.

What type of goals lend themselves to using career Impact Coaching?

There are many situations where Career Impact Coaching is ideal:
-       The first 100 days in a new role 
-       Wanting to step up your performance at work
-       Moving into a new role or more senior position
-       Starting a new project
-       Dealing with a challenging situation at work, whatever that may be

Will Impact Coaching work for me?

In her book, The Four Tendencies, Gretchen Rubin differentiates between:
 
1.     Inner expectations that you place on yourself.
2.     Outer expectations that others place on you.
This is fascinating research and you might want to refer to Rubin’s Four Tendencies Framework:

o   Upholders meet both inner and outer expectations.
o   Questioners question both inner and outer expectations.
o   Obligers resist inner but meet outer expectations.
o   Rebels resist both inner and outer expectations.

If you are unsure about how you will respond to Career Impact Coaching I would suggest you take the Quiz.

o   Obligers generally to get the most out of accountability coaching, as they thrive on outer expectations exclusively.
o   Upholders often take on too much, and they often find that an accountability coach can help them prioritize.
o   Questioners can get a lot out of accountability coaching, but only if the coach’s approach makes sense to them.
o   Rebels don’t care about any kind of accountability, so they generally respond best to “sounding board” type coaching.

Where does the meeting take place?

We meet over video (Zoom, Teams etc) or by phone and you can book a slot directly in my calendar to match your own availability.
