👤 About Josh Fineman

Josh began his career in finance, then pivoted into film production and co-founded a successful creative agency. But behind the success was burnout, emotional disconnection, and a growing sense that something was missing. A personal crisis — including the birth of his son and a life-threatening accident involving his mum — became a turning point.

His journey inward eventually led to coaching, men’s groups, and the creation of beMoreMensch — a movement and community that supports men in their 30s and 40s through mid-life transitions, using conversation, ritual, and group connection.

🗂️ Topics covered:

  • Josh’s honest account of walking away from a business that no longer fit

  • Two common mid-career dilemmas: achieving everything and still feeling unfulfilled, or falling short of societal expectations

  • The loneliness that often hides beneath the surface

  • What makes men’s groups powerful and how they actually work

  • The importance of intentional rituals, like fire circles, cold water swims, and honest conversation

  • Journalling as a way to reconnect with your values and show up with clarity

  • Why transformation doesn’t have to mean reinvention — just more alignment and presence

✍️ Practical takeaways:

  • Start with awareness: name what you’re feeling and stop masking it

  • You don’t need to figure it all out — just take one small, honest step

  • Try journalling for 5–10 minutes a day; ask: “What do I want more of in my work or life?”

  • Recommended resource: Exploratory Writing by Alison Jones – short, practical, and accessible
